HERMANN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELOR
I am thrilled to be the Professional School Counselor for Hermann Elementary. My work includes a great deal of character education delivered through classroom guidance lessons. I visit every student in grades K - 4 through classroom lessons approximately 2 times per month. This allows me a great opportunity to assess and further meet the needs for each individual student. Tier 2 interventions include small group instruction, based on the needs determined by parent communication, teacher referral, and my observation. Each day brings new surprises. I love the interaction with each little person and value the character that is developing in them as they progress through Hermann Elementary.

Los Angeles Unified School District Counselor
From 2000 - 2006, I began my career as a Professional School Counselor within the Los Angeles Unified School District. I first taught at Walter Reed Middle School working with Special Education students. Then for 5 years I was 1 of 13 counselors at San Fernando High School. My experience as an educator in Los Angeles allowed me the opportunity to work with a diverse range of programs and people. I loved my students, the Tigers of SFHS!
Hermann High School Counselor
From 2008 - 2013, I had the privilege of working as the Counselor in Hermann High School. While academic and personal development looks very different in grades 9 - 12, the components of Guidance & Counseling remain the same. I enjoyed helping the young adults of our Hermann community achieve their goals, celebrate success and growth opportunities while they worked toward their plans after high school. Go Bearcats!
From 2006- 2008, I served 5 counties in Missouri as an intake and case manager for First Steps of Missouri Early Intervention program for children ages birth to 3 years old. It was a wonderful opportunity to go into the homes of children and observe their development in their most comfortable environment. Parents are a child's first teacher and it was exciting to see how early interventions could make a profound difference in a child's development.

I have been the School Counselor for Hermann Elementary since 2013. While it is a big job in which I wear many hats, I enjoy assisting and educating my students in Pre-school thru 4th grade. I most appreciate seeing all of the little smiling faces each day.
